What is El Nido Tour C ?

Tour C takes you further out into the Bacuit Bay, heading toward the open sea. It offers a sense of mystery and adventure that truly defines the Palawan experience. From swimming through rocky tunnels to gazing down at vibrant reefs, it’s a day of pure wonder.
Where to Book Tour C? My Experience & Best Options
There are three ways to book the island hopping tours: online, local agencies or book through hotel/hostel.
Hotel/Hostel
Booking directly through a hotel or hostel is a convenient option, as it saves time and eliminates the hassle of negotiating or dealing with logistics.
During my first visit to El Nido, I personally went on Tour A and had a great experience with H Hospitality Travel & Tours (check out my post: El Nido Tour A). With just one call to the front desk, everything was taken care of.
The tour prices matched other agencies in town, and I loved that the pricing was transparent, with no hidden fees or last-minute add-ons. They even accommodated specific dietary requests, such as vegetarian meals, and coordinated both my private pickup and snorkeling equipment. On the day of the tour, all I had to do was show up in the lobby on time.

Platforms like Klook or GetYourGuide offer a convenient way to secure El Nido island-hopping tours in advance, with guaranteed slots, clear cancellation policies, and all-inclusive pricing.
Do note that some waiting time is normal. Boats typically rotate pickups before departure, so a short delay is part of the experience regardless of how you book.
From my experience, the overall quality of the trip often depends on the tour operator’s organization, operational efficiency, and service attitude. Choosing a reputable provider can help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, whether you book online or locally.
Local Agency
Tour agencies are everywhere in town. Prices are generally standardized, with most tours typically costing around PHP 1,200–1,400, though inclusions may vary by agency. While prices can be negotiated in some cases, it is important to be mindful of the service quality and consistency when booking with smaller street vendors.

El Nido Tour C Local Pro-Tips
Shared boat tours
This is the most common option, ideal for travelers who enjoy meeting new people, prefer a budget-friendly choice, and love a lively, social atmosphere on the boat.
From my experience, a good guide makes a huge difference. Both of my tour guides were reliable and fantastic at setting the mood. Even though the tour was shared with several other groups, the overall atmosphere remained relaxed and enjoyable.
Notes: season, boats have maximum capacity limits, so booking in advance is highly recommended. Tour paperwork is usually finalized the night before departure.
Private Tours
Private boat tours are also available, with prices varying based on group size and whether you choose a speedboat or a traditional outrigger boat (typically around PHP 9,000–12,000). If your budget allows, private tours offer more flexibility and better control over timing.
For instance, you can choose to start your tour an hour earlier or visit the destinations in reverse order. By starting with the final stop and ending with the first, you can effectively avoid the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful experience.
Check Inclusions & Exclusions
Most base prices exclude the PHP 400 Eco-Tourism Fee and PHP 200 Matinloc Shrine entry Fee. Additionally, many companies exclude the cost of kayak rentals, snorkeling gear, and water shoes.
If you plan to participate in water activities, it’s essential to confirm what is included when booking. Otherwise, you will need to pay rental fees directly to the guide onboard or to beach vendors. Fortunately, the package I booked with H Hospitality Travel & Tours included snorkeling equipment, saving me both time and hassle.
Dietary requirements
El Nido is surprisingly vegetarian-friendly. If you have specific dietary needs, it is highly recommended to inform the boat company in advance, as they are usually happy to accommodate requests.
Keep Your Receipt
The Eco-Tourism Fee is valid for 5 days. If you plan to join multiple island-hopping tours, keep your receipt so you don’t have to pay the fee again.
El Nido Tour C Itinerary
Tour C focuses more on swimming and snorkeling. It is a bit more challenging and requires a certain level of physical fitness, making it perfect for adventurers and snorkeling enthusiasts.
The tour usually starts around 9-9.30 a.m and ends at 4-5 p.m. Here is the breakdown of my experience at each stop:
Helicopter Island
Helicopter Island (Dilumacad Island) is usually the first stop and one of the most recognizable islands in Bacuit Bay. The island gets this nickname from its unique shape, which resembles a helicopter when viewed from a distance.
As the boat approaches, you’ll be welcomed by powdery white sand, turquoise waters, and towering limestone cliffs that create a dramatic tropical landscape.
Helicopter Island is also known for its excellent snorkeling conditions. The waters near the shore quickly drop into deeper areas, making it easy to spot colorful fish and coral formations even close to the beach. It’s a perfect stop where visitors can swim, relax, and enjoy the scenic beauty.
Hidden beach
Hidden Beach is a total natural wonder. Tucked away behind giant limestone cliffs, it is completely invisible from the open sea. Boats must anchor a bit further away due to the shallow waters, so visitors get to swim through a narrow opening between two massive rock walls to reach this hidden paradise.
Once inside, you’ll find a peaceful and stunning beach with soft white sand and calm, crystal-clear turquoise water. Surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs, the area feels quiet and secluded. The shallow water makes it perfect for swimming, relaxing, and taking photos. It is a must-visit destination that truly captures the magic of Palawan.
Matinloc shrine
Matinloc Shrine is located on Matinloc Island. The history of this shrine dates back to 1982. It was originally built as a spiritual retreat, but due to missing permits (or funding), the construction was never completed and was eventually abandoned.
Visitors can explore the abandoned retreat and small chapel, but the true highlight is the panoramic viewpoint from the cliffs. After a short but steep climb up rocky stairs, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Tapiutan Strait. From the top, you can see dramatic limestone cliffs, deep blue waters, and bright turquoise shallows creating a striking contrast.
The area is also famous for its excellent snorkeling conditions and beautiful nearby beaches. It is a fascinating cultural and visual landmark that shouldn’t be missed.
Note: Visitors are required to pay an additional PHP 100 entrance fee to access the island, but the view is definitely worth it!

Secret beach
Don’t confuse this with Hidden Beach — Secret Beach is even more “secret.” Located on Matinloc Island, this hidden gem is said to have inspired Alex Garland’s novel The Beach.
It is tucked behind jagged limestone cliffs and can only be accessed by swimming through a small opening in the rocks. Entry depends heavily on tide conditions and can be quite challenging due to strong waves and currents. Your swimming ability does matter, but don’t worry, the guides provide life jackets and will help pull you through if needed.
Once inside, you are rewarded with calm, crystal-clear waters and dramatic limestone walls that create a peaceful, enclosed paradise. The area is also fantastic for snorkeling, with colorful fish and coral visible in the shallows. Although it requires some effort and good timing to enter, the stunning scenery makes it well worth the experience.
Note: From November to January, El Nido is affected by northeastern winds. The sea can get quite rough during this period, it may be difficult to pass through the opening, so it’s best to check the weather forecast before booking your tour.
Talisay Beach
Talisay Beach is located on the shores of Tapiutan Island, and often used as the lunch spot during the tour. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, this secluded beach features soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and plenty of shady trees, making it the perfect place to relax and recharge.
The calm, shallow waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling, with vibrant coral reefs and colorful tropical fish just a short distance from shore. Quiet, less crowded, and incredibly beautiful, Talisay Beach offers a relaxing break during the adventure-filled Tour C itinerary.

One of the main reasons I chose Tour C was for the snorkeling and it absolutely lived up to expectations.

Helicopter Island is one of the best snorkeling spots on El Nido Tour C, known for its crystal-clear waters, gentle currents, and abundant marine life. The calm conditions make it ideal for families and beginners.
As soon as I entered the water, I was greeted by colorful coral gardens, schools of tropical fish, and even parrotfish swimming nearby. Giant clams and vibrant reefs could be seen clearly, especially close to the shoreline. The peaceful atmosphere and excellent visibility made snorkeling here both relaxing and exciting.
When I needed a break, I could simply head to the beach to rest under the shade. Offering a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation, Helicopter Island is a must-visit for any ocean lover.
Best Snorkeling Spots: Hidden Beach (Matinloc Island)
Hidden Beach on Matinloc Island is a true sanctuary for snorkelers and divers. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, this secluded cove offers calm, crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs. I was lucky enough to spot sea turtles, blacktip reef sharks, and Napoleon wrasse gliding through the shallows.
As part of a protected marine area, this island serves as an important nursery for marine biodiversity, helping maintain the ecological health of the archipelago.
Beyond the water, the island’s powdery white sand and the historic Matinloc Shrine add a unique cultural charm to the experience. It is a breathtaking destination that perfectly balances world-class snorkeling with stunning natural and historical beauty.

Best Snorkeling Spots: Tapiutan Island
Tapiutan Island and nearby Talisay Beach are both well-known snorkeling spots. Located farther out in the archipelago, this area features crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral gardens, and abundant marine life.
While snorkeling, I spotted a variety of colorful corals, blue starfish, clownfish, bannerfish, and sea urchins. The healthy reefs and calm waters make it ideal for both beginners and experienced snorkelers.
Tapiutan is also known for its dramatic cliffs and steep coral drop-offs, where larger fish such as barracuda and jack schools can sometimes be seen. Thanks to its remote location, the area feels peaceful and less crowded, making it an ideal destination for a tranquil and memorable snorkeling experience.

- Snorkel gear: Bring your own snorkel gear for better comfort and hygiene. While rentals are available, quality varies (PHP 100–200/day).
- Footwear: Wear water shoes to protect against rocky entry points.
- Environmental Protection: Use reef-safe sunscreen to protect the coral.
- Wildlife Etiquette: Do not touch or chase sea turtles; observe them from a distance of at least 2 meters.
- Safety: Always wear a life vest and follow your guide’s instructions.
