ToggleHow to get to El Nido, Palawan?
There are three main ways to reach El Nido, Palawan: Air Travel, Land Travel, and Sea Travel.
Pro-Tip: Whichever route you take, the last decision is the same one: which part of El Nido to sleep in. Lio is quiet and next to the airport, the town is walkable and cheap to eat in, and Nacpan is the beach day everyone remembers. El Nido is most easily reached by air travel, which is also the most time-saving option. The quickest route is from Coron/Busuanga (USU) at just 40 minutes, followed by Boracay/Caticlan (MPH) at around 70 minutes. Direct flights from Clark (CRK) take roughly 1 hour 30 minutes, while Cebu (CEB) and Bohol/Panglao (TAG) connect in about 1 hour 50 minutes.
If you prefer land or sea travel, the cost is generally lower. You can fly into Puerto Princesa (PPS) and take a 5 to 8 hour van or bus, or sail from Coron via fast ferry (3.5 to 5 hours) or a multi-day expedition cruise.
What is the airport in el nido?
The primary gateway to El Nido is El Nido Lio Airport (ENI). This is the most convenient option for travelers heading directly to El Nido.
The airport is located approximately 5 km from the town with a 15–20 minute tricycle ride (around PHP 300 per ride as of 2026). Tricycles are readily available right outside the terminal, though you may also check if your hotel offers a private shuttle service.
Cebgo (DG), part of the Cebu Pacific group, operates the commercial flights to and from ENI. Note that there are no direct flights from Manila: since 29 March 2026 the propeller services that used to leave Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) depart from Clark International Airport (CRK) instead. ENI is currently served from Clark, Cebu, Caticlan (for Boracay), Coron (Busuanga) and Bohol-Panglao, with schedules varying by season. Since flights sell out quickly during peak season, it is highly recommended to book early to secure your spot.
Pro-Tip:
1. If your flight is during the day, try to get a window seat! You might catch a breathtaking view of the world-famous Nacpan Beach just before landing.
2. ENI is a small airport without luggage carousels, so please wait in the baggage claim area until your luggage is handed over before exiting.

How To Get To El Nido From Manila?
Since late March 2026, the route from Manila to El Nido has changed significantly. All propeller flights to El Nido, previously operated out of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), have been relocated to Clark International Airport (CRK) to reduce congestion. Direct Manila-to-El Nido flights no longer exist; Clark is now the sole gateway.
The journey takes two stages:
1. Manila (NAIA) → Clark (CRK): about 2 hours overland You’ll need to transfer roughly 80 km north to Clark. Common options include a private car or the Genesis P2P Bus. Both are convenient, but Manila’s traffic is notoriously unpredictable, so be sure to build in extra buffer time.
2. Clark (CRK) → El Nido (ENI): 1.5-hour flight Cebgo operates direct propeller flights from Clark straight into El Nido Airport, landing you just minutes from the town center.
Pro tip: If you’re arriving from overseas, skip Manila entirely. Fly directly into Clark via international hubs like Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai, or Doha. You’ll bypass Manila’s traffic and the 2-hour overland transfer, and you’ll arrive at CRK, recently awarded ACI’s 2025 Best Airport at Arrivals Globally.
Pro-Tip:

From Cebu to El Nido
Traveling from Cebu (CEB) to El Nido is even more straightforward than from Manila, with more direct flights available in 2026. Cebu Pacific operates direct flights from CEB to ENI, with a flight time of approximately 1 hour and 45-50 minutes. Many travelers combine Cebu and El Nido in a single trip, enjoying Cebu’s city and island attractions before heading to El Nido. This route is ideal for those who prioritize comfort and speed over ferry travel. For the full terminal walkthrough, baggage rules and arrival costs, see our Cebu to El Nido Travel Guide.

From Coron(Busuanga) to El Nido
Coron, located just north of El Nido, is a stunning island famous for diving and natural scenery. Many travelers choose to visit both destinations in the same trip. Cebu Pacific operates direct flights from Busuanga Airport (USU) to El Nido (ENI), with a quick flight time of only 40 minutes. This remains the fastest, most comfortable, and most reliable option compared to traveling by ferry. Please note that flights are seasonal and may not operate year-round, it is highly recommended to check schedules in advance.

From Clark to El Nido
Direct flights from Clark / Angeles City (CRK) to El Nido (ENI) are also operated by Cebu Pacific, with a flight time of approximately 1.5 hours. Clark International Airport is relatively small, allowing passengers to check in and clear security without changing terminals, which makes the process quick and hassle-free. This route is particularly convenient for travelers from northern Luzon who wish to avoid Manila’s traffic and reach El Nido directly.
From Panglao(Bohol) to El Nido
Traveling from Bohol / Panglao (TAG) to El Nido is equally convenient, with direct flights operated by Cebu Pacific taking approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. Bohol-Panglao International Airport is ideally located just a 15–20 minute drive from a major beach area , making it easy to combine Bohol’s famous beaches with a trip to El Nido. This route is a perfect choice for travelers looking to experience two of the Philippines’ most iconic island destinations in a single journey.
From Caticlan(Boracay) to El Nido
If you plan to visit both Boracay and El Nido, you first need to take a short ferry from Boracay to Caticlan Airport (MPH). From there, a direct flight to El Nido (ENI) with Cebu Pacific takes just 70 minutes, making it the fastest and most convenient route between the two destinations. This option is perfect for travelers who want to combine Boracay’s beaches with El Nido’s island-hopping adventures while minimizing travel time.
Pro-Tip: If you’re staying in El Nido for less than five days, a direct flight is highly recommended to save valuable travel time.
Note: Flight schedules are subject to change. Some routes are seasonal and may not operate year-round. Please check the official airline website for the most up-to-date timetable.
Land Travel: How to get to El Nido overland?
If you are traveling on a budget and don’t mind a longer journey, flying into Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS) is a practical option. As Palawan’s primary gateway, PPS offers the widest range of flight options and competitive fares, making it ideal for budget-conscious travelers. The airport handles both domestic and international flights and serves as a convenient starting point for exploring northern Palawan.

From Puerto Princesa to El Nido
Travelling from Puerto Princesa to El Nido requires an additional 5 to 6-hour overland journey, there are three main options:
1. Shared or Private Van (Most Popular)
Shared vans are available right outside the airport terminal and operate daily routes to El Nido. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, and tickets cost around PHP 600-800 per person. Multiple companies offer this service; however, refund and ticket change policies vary by operator, so be sure to check the terms before booking.
For groups of five or more, renting a private van (PHP 3,000–5,000) provides more flexibility, comfort, and a faster journey. Along the way, travelers can enjoy the lush tropical landscapes, limestone cliffs, and glimpses of local villages, making it a scenic ride rather than just a transfer.
2. Bus (Budget Choice)
For those seeking the most economical option, local buses such as Cherry Bus and Roro Bus offer air-conditioned rides for approximately PHP 850-1,050. Please note the bus terminal is located about 4 km from the airport, so a short tricycle or taxi ride is needed to reach the departure point. Travel time by bus is usually 6–8 hours, and while it may take longer than a van, it is a reliable and comfortable option for budget travelers.
3. Car or Motorbike Rental (Adventure)
If you prefer a more flexible pace and complete freedom, renting a car or motorbike is another excellent option. Rental shops in Puerto Princesa offer daily, weekly, and monthly rentals, allowing you to travel at your own pace, stop whenever you wish, and experience Palawan’s stunning landscapes firsthand.
Note:
1. Shared Van Reminder: During peak season or when flights are affected, most shared vans may reroute via Puerto Princesa before heading to El Nido. It’s recommended to book in advance to secure your seat. Passengers usually dropped off at the El Nido Bus Terminal, which is located outside the main town. From there, you can take a tricycle to your hotel or arrange a pickup in advance if your hotel offers this service.
2. Van and Bus Operators: Popular shared van operators include Travel Palawan and Palawan Days. If you prefer the bus, the main providers are Cherry Bus and Roro Bus. Seats can also be reserved in advance through platforms like Klook, GetYourGuide, or Bookaway. Bus schedules are subject to change, so always check official websites for the latest timetable before your trip.
3. Self-Drive / Motorbike Rental Notes: You must carry both your international driving permit and original license. Drive safely, and ensure that rented vehicles are returned according to the rental agreement.

Fee stop on the way in: Since October 2026, El Nido’s Municipal Tourism Office asks travelers arriving by road from Puerto Princesa or the south to stop at the ETDF building in Barangay Bagong Bayan and pay the Eco-Tourism Development Fee (PHP 400 for ages 14 and over, PHP 250 for ages 6 to 13, free under 6). Keep the receipt: it is valid for 5 days, so you will not be charged again when you join island hopping in that window.
Pro-Tip:
